You may have noticed that our blog is getting a new name.
Welcome to the 406 Journal.
The name may be changing, but the heart behind it isn't.
For us, the 406 Journal is a place to slow down, look back, share a story, and celebrate the things that make life meaningful. It's where the past meets the present—and where we can share a little more of the story behind 406 Vintage Designs.
FROM A DESIGN STUDIO TO A RECOGNIZED BRAND
406 Vintage Designs has been growing and evolving.
What began with a love for vintage style and the beauty of things from another time has grown into something much bigger—a creative brand built around vintage-inspired design, meaningful stories, creativity, faith, and a little Montana heart.
Our goal is to create designs that don't simply look vintage.
We want them to feel vintage.
The warmth of an old photograph. The typography on an old sign. The colors of a well-loved piece of furniture. The feeling of walking into an antique shop and wondering about the story behind something you've just discovered.
Those little details inspire us.
And they are becoming part of the 406 Vintage Designs identity.
PAST MEETS PRESENT
That has always been at the heart of what we do.
We love the past, but we don't want to leave it there.
We want to bring those timeless ideas, colors, memories, traditions, and stories into today's world through apparel, home décor, faith-inspired designs, holiday collections, digital artwork, and so much more.
The 406 Journal will become another part of that journey.

Living in Northwest Montana has given us plenty of stories to tell.
Montana has a way of making you slow down and notice things.
The mountains.
The rivers.
The old barns.
The changing seasons.
The quiet roads.
The small towns.
The people.
The history.
The way an old building can still tell you something about the people who came before us.
We'll be sharing stories about Montana life, places we've visited, things we've learned, and some of the moments that have stayed with us along the way.

That's part of the fun.

One of our favorite things about living in Northwest Montana has been discovering vintage and antique treasures.
Sometimes it's something beautiful.
Sometimes it's something unusual.
Sometimes it's something that makes us wonder, “Who owned this? What was its story?”
An old piece of furniture.
A vintage kitchen item.
A weathered sign.
An old photograph.
A piece of clothing.
A Christmas decoration.
A forgotten treasure tucked away in an antique shop.
These things aren't simply old objects to us.
They are little pieces of history.
And every once in a while, we find something that inspires an idea for a new 406 Vintage Designs creation.
